ThinkPad 8 currently runs Windows 8.1 on Intel's newest Atom mobile CPU, which has also been dubbed  “Bay Trail.”

Much like the iPad Mini, Lenovo's ThinkPad 8 runs two cameras: the rear-facing one is 8MP and the the front is 2 MP.  The iPad Mini's highest resolution camera is  5 MP.

This new Windows 8.1 tablet has a starting price  at $399 and weighs about one pound. The iPad Mini also has a strting price of $399 and weighs in between 0.73 pounds and 0.75 pounds (depending on the exact model you buy.

Even though the ThinkPad 8 screen is HD and is only a little bit larger than the iPad Mini's, it doesn't exactly measure up to the mini's retina display specs (2,048 x 1,536). The Thinkpad weighs in at 1920 x 1200. The ThinkPad 8's starting model consists 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, and is also available in 64 GB and 128 GB storage configurations. The iPad mini sports the same configurations.

Currently, the Thinkpad is only available  as a Wi-Fi model in the United States, however, this particular model includes a SIM card slot, which has been reported will be used for LTE support. Lenovo spokespersons have stated that the mobile broadband option should be coming to the U.S. very soon.

So you be the judge, who won, and why?
